Maria's house=funds raised by you
On our way out of El Sauce - with much patience and great detective work by our drivers, we were able to track down Maria and tell her she would be able to receive a '4 walls' house . She was thrilled!
It 's so rewarding to actually make the connection -meet and see exactly where your donations are going.Maria lives here with her twins , her mother and sister . It's a bit of a hike to town and the actually building process will be more difficult .I would love to be a part of it ....not sure our kids would jump back in but ya never know. hopefully there will be a group going over in the spring and the work will get started
building the house
this is a picture of the room we replaced . this family was a recipient of one of the first '4 walls' projects but it was a very small space for a growing family of 5.
there were trenches to be dug .
we quickly learned to sift, mix and morter. It was cool getting to know the family and being able to work side by side with the people directly effected by the project.
